the interchange series
the interchange series questions the relationship between gender and society. It tackles the preconceived ideologies that are enforced on us and the restricting socially constructed notions of "masculinity" and "femininity." As a means to essentially challenge traditional ideals, the following pieces represent an equilibrium between the sexes through defining cultural elements and aesthetics to deliver a symmetry that render a sense of fluidity and "interchangeability"
each element functions as a carrier that metaphorically confronts this matter of what defines a woman and a man.
we need to dismantle the way society has constructed 'masculinity' and 'femininity' and this is what I aim to address through the interchange series. stay tuned for more pieces to come.
